Authenticity and Personal Development
Authenticity and Development
The individual is, in itself, a humanistic process, where adding virtues or improving habits only makes sense if it responds to the purpose of knowing oneself, reconciling, and transforming. But if that process starts from a mask or from what others expect, growth becomes a moral imitation, not a real evolution.
Therefore, being authentic is to embrace the rawness of what one is; a responsible integration, which in turn implies that the individual confronts the unfinished construction of oneself, with lights, shadows, contradictions, and wounds. From there, it is possible to change with truth.
